Face & Body Oil
One oil for face and body — and the ten minutes that are yours.
This was the first thing I made. I had been collecting essential oils in every city I worked in, and at some point the collection turned into a habit — a few drops at night, and my skin and my head both settled. I wanted that habit in one bottle instead of nine.
It is built to absorb rather than sit. Jojoba leads because it behaves more like skin’s own oil than most plant oils do, which is why it sinks in instead of pooling. Camellia adds slip without weight, and safflower, pomegranate, evening primrose, blackberry seed and sea buckthorn oils round it out. The finish is soft and lit from within — noticeably not slick, which is the difference between an oil you use in the morning and one you only use before bed.
It works on face and body without compromise in either direction, which most oils cannot claim. Face oils are usually too precious to use on legs; body oils are usually too heavy for a face. Same bottle, same gesture, no separate product for either — three drops for a face, five to eight for a body.
Carrying it is Signature Essential Oil Blend No. 1 — helichrysum, frankincense, petitgrain, and lavender, anchored by copaiba. Grounding, a little green, resinous, nothing sugary. Warm it in your palms first and breathe before you apply.
Blended by a certified aromatherapist, trained at the New York Institute of Aromatic Studies (now the School for Aromatic Studies), in the French apothecary tradition of rigorous essential oil formulation and the English holistic approach to skin, body, and mind.
How to use
- Warm three to five drops in your palms, then press into damp skin — damp is the whole trick, since the oil seals in the water rather than replacing it
- On the face after cleansing or after the Face & Body Mist, before skin has fully dried
- Face, neck and décolletage, morning or night, three drops for face alone
- On the body straight out of the shower, five to eight drops, while the bathroom is still warm
- Anywhere dry and specific — cuticles, ends of hair, pulse points, the bridge of the nose after sunglasses
- Under the Multipurpose Balm on especially rough patches: oil first to sink in, balm second to seal
- On the backs of hands after a day of hand sanitizer
Press, do not rub. Rubbing moves oil around the surface; pressing gets it into the skin. If you finish and skin still looks wet after a minute, reduce by a drop next time — the goal is a finish that reads as skin, not as product. Keep it out of the eyes, and as with any new product, patch test first if you are reactive.
Why it works
- Lightweight, fast-absorbing hydration for face and body
- Jojoba behaves like skin’s own oil, so it absorbs instead of pooling
- Botanical oils that soften, comfort, and revive dull-looking skin
- Visible glow without heaviness or residue
- One bottle for face, body, hair, and nails
- Grounding aroma that makes it a ritual, not a step
Transparency
Formulated to EU cosmetic safety standards. The formula was assessed by an independent European safety assessor, and every fragrance allergen above the European disclosure threshold — limonene, linalool, geraniol and coumarin — is named in the ingredient list rather than hidden inside the word fragrance. As a US brand, we were required to do neither. Essential oils are potent, and anyone who reacts to a specific one deserves to be able to find it on the label.
Dermatologist tested, and cruelty-free under Leaping Bunny certification. Leaping Bunny audits the supply chain rather than accepting a supplier’s word for it, which is the part of the certification that costs something.
Made in the USA, in recyclable packaging. This is a single-phase oil with no water in it, which is why it needs no preservative system — not a virtue we engineered, just a consequence of the format, and worth knowing when you compare it to a lotion.
What we do not claim. We do not call this product natural, non-toxic, or organic. It contains certified organic oils, marked with an asterisk in the full ingredient list, which is a smaller and different statement than being a certified organic product — and we are not going to blur the two. Non-toxic and all-natural have no agreed definition in cosmetics, so they tell you nothing. This is a cosmetic: it moisturizes, comforts and softens skin. It does not treat any condition, and we will not imply otherwise.
The complete ingredient list is above, unabridged. Nothing is summarized, grouped, or left out. This is not a finished piece of work — we are still improving what we disclose and how, and we will keep updating this page as we do, including the parts that do not flatter us.
